We are a garden club of about 52 members and growing in Friendswood, Texas. Friendswood is located between Houston ( to the north) and Galveston( to the south).
Although we are all different ages and walks of life we have common interests in horticulture, gardening, flowers, floral design, crafting, community involvement, and the list goes on. We have monthly morning meetings with informational speakers September through May at our clubhouse, The Marie Workman Garden Center. We have many fun activities for members to get involved in. Some of our events require hard work, organization, team work and creativity. We all pitch in and continue to offer a wonderful Christmas Home Tour celebrating our 50th tour this year. The Through the Garden Gate Spring Garden tour in April continues to amaze those who gaze on the wonderful area homeowner gardens along with our Flower Design Show and Horticulture show.
We are proud to offer an annual $1,000 scholarship to a local high school graduating senior or local college student with a college major in horticulture, floriculture, landscape design or other related studies who is selected from our application process.
If you live in the area please join us at one of our meetings or events.
